SAA Council Approves Podcast Working Group, User Experience Section Standing Rules

November 29At its October 31–November 1, 2023, hybrid meeting in Chicago, the SAA Council:

  • Approved the recommendation to adopt revisions to add a Certificate Renewal by Petition option to the Digital Archives Specialist certificate renewal process. (IV.A)  
  • Approved a recommendation to establish the Podcast Working Group. (IV.B.)  
  • Approved the User Experience Section Standing Rules. (IV.C.)  
  • Approved the FY24 Budget.  
  • Approved minutes for the July 2023 Council meeting, which are now available on the SAA website. (II.C. 
  • Approved the recommendation to add a Vice Chair position to the Appointments Committee. (VII.I) 
  • Approved the recommendation for the Chair of the Program Committee to serve as ex-officio for one year after completion of chair position(VII.S) 
  • Approved a one-year extension concluding in June 2024 for the TS-AFG of the charge and roster. (VII.T) 
  • Approved the recommendation to change the Women’s Collections Archives Section to a discussion group. (VII.E) 
  • Approved creating an informal task force to develop a multi-level model to collaborate nationally and internationally. (V.A) 
  • Reviewed all SAA component groups and sections 2023 Annual Report. (VII.E)
