2025 SAA Election Results

May 12, 2025 —The results of SAA's 2025 election are in! The following individuals have been elected to serve:

  • Brenda Gunn (Albert and Shirley Small Special Collections Library, University of Virginia) has been elected SAA Vice President/President-Elect. Gunn begins a one-year term as vice president this August and will become SAA's 81st president in 2026–2027.
  • Angel Diaz (University of California, Santa Barbara Library), Brittany Newberry (Georgia State University), and Teresa Mora (University of California, Santa Cruz) have been elected to the SAA Council for three-year terms beginning this August (2025–2028).
  • The 2026 Nominating Committee will consist of Kelley Hummingbird (Association of Tribal Archives, Libraries, and Museums), Melissa Stoner (University of California, Berkeley), and Steve Duckworth (Oregon Health & Science University). As the individual who received the most votes, Hummingbird will serve as chair of the Committee. In addition, the Nominating Committee includes two third-year Council members who will be selected by the Council at its May 2025 meeting.

SAA is grateful to all of the individuals who put their names forward for the 2025 Ballot, as well as to the 2025 Nominating Committee for their service: Jessica Tai (chair), Lori Dedeyan, Sarah Patton, and Council members Joyce Gabiola and Lydia Tang.
