Lori Lindberg

Recently relocated to her home state of Indiana after over half her lifetime in California, Lori Lindberg is a former staff archivist and now archival consultant, having work relationships with entities large and small, public and private, including Bank of America, the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, California State Parks, and the Jelly Belly Candy Company. She is a member of the Society of Indiana Archivists* the Midwest Archives Conference (MAC)* and the Society of American Archivists (SAA). Lori is most active with SAA, where she has served on numerous award committees, as Chair of the Archival Educators' Roundtable, as a member of the SAA Committee on Education, and as a member of the Nominating Committee. For 6 years, Lori was a member of the DAS Subcommittee - overseeing the Digital Archives Specialist (DAS) Certificate curriculum, a digital archives continuing education initiative for SAA. Lori held the Chair appointment of the DAS Subcommittee from 2011 - 2014 and continued as a DAS Subcommittee contributing member through 2017. The DAS Subcommittee was awarded the SAA Council Exemplary Service Award in 2015. Lori was a Candidate for VicePresident/President-Elect in the 2016 SAA leadership election and was awarded a second SAA Council Exemplary Service Award in 2020 for her work in graduate archival education.

In addition to her archives consulting work, Lori is a Lecturer in the Master of Archives and Records Administration (MARA) degree and in the Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree at San Jose State University's School of Information. Lori has also taught courses in digital preservation, digital repositories and other aspects of archival science at the University of California, Los Angeles, the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and Kent State University, as well as educational lectures and workshops for many professional organizations and associations, including The Society of American Archivists, ARMA International and the National Association of Law Libraries. She was a recipient of the WISE (Web-based Information Science Education) Consortium's Excellence in Online Teaching Award for 2010 and 2012.

Lori received her most recent SAA Council Exemplary Service Award for her work creating the MARA - Masters of Archives and Records Administration - degree at SJSU's School of Information. The MARA degree was the first fully accredited Masters degree for records and archives education in the United States and has recently passed the ten-year mark of continuous enrollment and instruction
