May 15, 2020—At its May 12-13 virtual meeting, the SAA Council:

CHICAGO—In the midst of one of the gravest public health and economic crises in modern history, archivists are taking action to collect and preserve materials documenting the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on their communities and the nation. Materials include audio and video media, social media posts, websites, emails and letters, journals and diaries, photographs, oral histories, creative writings, and works of visual and performance art. 

SAA’s appointed groups are now seeking to mentor early-career members! Students and new professionals (with three or fewer years of experience in the profession) are encouraged to apply for this unique mentoring and leadership development experience.

May 1, 2020—To date, the Archival Workers Emergency Fund has supported 77 archival workers in need! Thank you to the AWEF Review Committee for their diligent work each week to get these fund dispersed!
