n. DescriptionThe principal access point in a catalog record. DescriptionA complete bibliographic description, including the heading used as the principal access point, presented in the form by which the item is to be identified and cited.

The main entry1 is usually the name of the individual chiefly responsible for the intellectual or artistic content of a work, a corporate entity, or the title of the work. See "Choice of Access Points" (chapter 12) in Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules for details. If the main entry is a name, it is recorded in MARC fields 100, 110, 111, or 130; if it is a title, it is recorded in field 245. - A main entry2 may include added entries.
