Museum Collections Coordinator
$5,154-$6,328/MONTH, 37.5 hour work week

The City of Oakland is seeking a Museum Collections Coordinator for the African American Museum & Library. Reporting to the Chief Curator, you will provide collection management and coordinate collection management functions, including curatorial, registration and conservation. You will also be responsible for special projects and recruiting, training and directing a staff of volunteers and interns.
Minimum qualifications include a Master's degree in History, Art, Natural Science, Museum Studies or a related field (Master's degree in Library and Information Science I desirable), 3 years of progressively responsible experience in collections management for a museum in the field of history, art or natural science, demonstrated ability to successfully manage and complete special projects and comprehensive knowledge of automated collection management systems utilized by museums (archive collection management and automated archival systems experience is desired. Bilingual skills in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin or Vietnamese.
