Archivist - Pictorial Collections

The Hagley Museum and Library, an independent research library specializing in business and technological history, is seeking an archivist to work in the pictorial collections department, which houses over two million unique items. Under the direction of the Curator of Prints and Photographs, the position's duties include processing audiovisual collections and creating MARC records for them, scanning and uploading images into the Library's digital asset management system using ContentDM software, performing reference work for picture requests from library users and outside researchers, and preparing and processing orders for photographic reproduction.
Requirements include an MLS, a graduate degree in an appropriate field, or equivalent work experience, familiarity with MARC cataloging and computer databases, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working up to six regularly scheduled once-a-month Saturday library openings each year.
