Archivist/Assistant Librarian (2 Positions)

The Assistant Librarians/Archivists will meet the information needs of students, faculty, and other customers of Special Collections by providing reference service and instruction on the use of archival collections, curating exhibits, and acquiring archival collections.
Primary responsibilities for the incumbent of job #40884 include manuscript processing & collection management activities (i.e. processing papers, records and congressional collections, accessions, de-accession, etc.).
Primary responsibilities for the incumbent of job #40885 include management/coordination of digital initiatives involving Special Collections materials and services both independently and with other library teams; also plays leading role in creating/delivering digital materials to scholars using emerging technologies & standards-based methods.
Minimum Qualifications:
Job #40884: ALA-accredited MLS, a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in the accessioning, appraisal and arrangement of congressional and other archival collections, OR Certification by the Academy of Certified Archivists
Job #40885: ALA-accredited MLS, a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in digitizing and providing access to special or archival collections, OR Certification by the Academy of Certified Archivists
Salary: $47,093
