Workshop Proposals
The Committee on Education
of the Society of American
Archivists invites submission of
proposals for ˝-day, one-day,
or two-day Pre-Conference
Programs held in conjunction
with the Joint Annual Meeting
of the Society of American
Archivists and the Council
of State Archivists (CoSA) in
Austin, Texas, August 11–16, 2009.
Proposals should build on or
enhance SAA’s current continuing
education curriculum. Existing
programs are listed in the SAA
catalog at www.archivists.org/prof-education/course_
catalog.asp.
Proposals for new education
programs may be developed with
specific groups in mind or for the
broader SAA audience. Programs
are presented in one of the
following formats:
- Workshop: Intensive,
problem-focused learning
experience that actively
involves up to 30 participants in
identifying and analyzing problems
and in developing and
evaluating solutions.
- Seminar: Educational session
in which 40+ participants obtain
information from a knowledgeable
resource person in a given
content area, allowing time for
questions, interaction, and discussion.
The Committee welcomes
proposals from archivists as well
as professionals in related fields.
To submit a proposal, please complete the form (RTF) at www.archivists.org/conference and submit (as an attachment or via regular mail) no later than October 15, 2008. Your submission must include all supporting materials required by the Committee on Education in order to be considered. Criteria for workshop material and what reviewers look for can be found on the SAA Education & Events menu under Program Development.
