In 1992, a task force was formed by the California State Library to examine the results of a statewide needs assessment survey and design a preservation program for California to meet preservation training, education and assistance needs.  They created the California Preservation and Disaster Networks which is a disaster prevention and response program.  It has no members, just an organization of networks.
