Founded in 1998, Archivists of the Houston Area exists to increase contact and communication among archivists and those working with records, to provide opportunities for professional development, and to promote archival repositories and activities in the greater Houston, Texas area. The group holds quarterly meetings in local archival repositories with guest speakers selected by the executive board. It also organizes exhibitions and/or activities in October for Archives Month. Membership is open to anyone interested in the archives profession.
